Australian artist Klare Lanson practices as a performance maker, poet, writer and sound artist. She makes projects about technology, memory, environment and place. For over 15 years, Klare has presented both solo and collaborative performances for many events and festivals and has toured internationally. She has worked collaboratively with groups such as Clocked Out Productions, Hypersense Complex, PVI Collective, Red Cabbage Inc and 13% Punk. Klare coproduced an independent electronic spoken word album ‘Every Third Breath’ with Cornel Wilczek, played briefly in a surf pop punk band called ‘The 360s’ and her words are published in places like Going Down Swinging, Overland and Cordite Online Journal. Klare was co-editor of Going Down Swinging for three years, was a feature artist in The Material Poem eAnthology, presented work for Meanjin and Overland’s Meanland Project at The Wheeler Centre for Writing and Ideas and recently performed for Live Art organisation Punctum Inc, the 2012 Melbourne Arts Festival, the Undue Noise collective and the 2013 Newstead Short Story Tattoo. Her latest audio publication is with the Overland Literary Journal and she currently presents a spoken word and sound art radio show ‘Turn Left at the Baco’ for Castlemaine’s community station WMAfm. Her latest art project is #wanderingcloud, a multidisciplinary performance project about the capture of memory and location media, specifically dealing with recent flood experiences. She lives in Castlemaine, Central Victoria, Australia.
